Maurie Rott

The Wisconsin Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) presented Maurie Rott with the APWA John W. Curtis Service Award. A Client Center Specialist at Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH®), Maurie received the award in recognition of his outstanding individual achievement through chapter activity and service to the Wisconsin Chapter while supporting the APWA’s strategic plan, goals, and objectives.

An enthusiastic advocate for the Wisconsin Chapter of APWA and Past Chapter President, Maurie has been a leader in addressing public works issues at both the state and national levels throughout his 38-year career. His commitment to finding better solutions for municipal governments, better services for Wisconsin communities, and better ways of managing public works resources has strengthened the role of public works leadership throughout the State of Wisconsin.

He credits his own experience in APWA as the source of his understanding of just how beneficial it is to share timely information, insight, and, in some cases, a sympathetic ear. His willingness to train, educate, and mentor the next generation of public works professionals is a direct reflection of the character and integrity that has distinguished Maurie’s leadership.
