Lloyd Pauly Receives APWA Excellence in Education Award

The National American Public Works Association (APWA) named Lloyd Pauly the recipient of the APWA Donald C. Stone Award for Excellence in Education. The Donald C. Stone Award for Excellence in Education was established to recognize outstanding and meritorious achievement of individuals assisting in the areas of continuing and graduate professional education for public works professionals, as well as, helping APWA chapters in their efforts in delivering educational opportunities for public works staffing.

Pauly serves as a Local Government Market Specialist for professional consulting services firm Short Elliott Hendrickson Inc. (SEH®), comprised of more than 750 architects, engineers, planners, and scientists in 30 offices throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, Indiana, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Wyoming. During his 42-year membership in the Minnesota Chapter of APWA, Lloyd Pauly has actively developed, taught, and supported many of the Chapter’s educational offerings.
Through his leadership efforts, Pauly has helped create a strong foundation and Chapter emphasis for public works continuing education. As a result, the Minnesota Chapter offers a wide variety of education and training opportunities to a broad spectrum of public works service providers, which results in developing first class public works practitioners and fulfills the APWA mission to promote “professional excellence and public understanding through education, advocacy, and the exchange of knowledge.”
